 Becoming a Change-Maker

“Do what we can”

Because I have been given much I too must give. I have been given so much in my married life. We have not only been blessed but we have struggled in our live again and again and through the mercies of others we have been blessed with the things we needed and those things others thought we would need to have joy in our lives. From fast offerings to help pay bills, to food from the bishops storehouse, to Christmas gifts, anonymous givers of new flooring for our home so we wouldn't have to live on asbestos concreate, generous gift of our son's mission being paid for 2 years. We have been bless beyond my words by many people who have the means to bless other in their time of need. I want to echo Elder Holland by saying, "that I openly acknowledge the unearned, undeserved, unending blessings in my life, both temporal and spiritual. Like you, I have had to worry about finances on occasion, but I have never been poor, nor do I even know how the poor feel. Furthermore, I do not know all the reasons why the circumstances of birth, health, education, and economic opportunities vary so widely here in mortality, but when I see the want among so many, I do know that “there but for the grace of God go I.”18 I also know that although I may not be my brother’s keeper, I am my brother’s brother, and “because I have been given much, I too must give.”19, this is exactly how I feel when I reflect on my circumstances.

Microlending: Toward a Poverty-Free World

Creating a mind-set that you want to be the changemaker will allow one to "don't give up dreaming. Be a dreamer. And keep on trying to make the dream come true. Dream about the world you would like to have. If we all dream about a better world, I can guarantee you that we will create a better world." (155)

Acton Hero Sarah Endline

She did what she already loved, she created her business on a passion of helping others in diverse cultures, She found space to create a business that made sense, which she wants to give back and create a culture around her business and relationships. Having a business you create will allow you to move forward and have complete control of your dream.

Continue of what I have learned

We can do whatever we want to if we continue to keep improving. Accomplishments take will to keep doing something. Continue to improve your world by making small changes that will effect the rest of the world as you follow your dream to make a difference is what learning and developing will do to a person who has a dream to make a difference. Make your vision and mission work for you and then grow it to others, make it personal and make it work in the why?
"President Monson: “What an exciting life is available for each one of us today. We can be explorers in spirit with a mandate to make this world better by discovering improved ways of living and doing things. God left the world unfinished for man to work his skill. He left the electricity in the cloud, the oil in the earth. He left the rivers unbridged and the forests unfelled and the cities unbuilt. God gives to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of finished things. He leaves the pictures unpainted and the music unsung and the problems unsolved, that man might know the joys and the glories of creation. True pioneers solve problems and rise to bless others by opening new frontiers and finishing the undone work God left for us to do.” I know that we are blessed with many good things on this earth. We were made to be creators."
In my life, I have always had a drive to improve my world better but had this stumbling block of knowing where to start or not having the confidence in myself or not having enough money to do anything. I tried to take what I knew and tried to continue forward only to find a road block to not being able to complete it because of health or money.

Conclusion

I know that in my business adventures, I have just learned that I am doing a service to others, I am helping them celebrate the start of their marriage. A consecrated union that the Lord will bless. I am offering to them beautiful decorations to celebrate this start. I have felt on a view occasions that we need to price our services around their budget and not allow debt for them because of this union. I have also felt that we need to offer ways to help them stay within the budget they have.. I love this part by Elder Gay, "This isn’t just some other thing that you're doing in your life. This is about real people and real lives. Don’t look to yourselves in all that you do. I can tell you in all that I have learned, there is nothing more important than understanding business is about service, and about rescue." and so I want my mission is to celebrate the union of marriage and allow others to have a beautiful celebration that they can afford and our talents and services can provide for them.
