W03 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal
This weeks reading was very insightful for me as a new business owner, I could see myself in each scenario and I could connect with what was being taught. In the book Launching Leaders, Chapter 4-6, I learned valuable lessons on charting your course which means to face your fears, pray for help, and to have faith to work by stepping out of your comfort zone. There are core values that lead to a destination that lead to wave points. Setting goals early on both long and short term goals will help stay the path that you need to be on as an entrepreneur.
Abiding by the formula that has proven many times to work in many successful people's lives is to..
- Get up early
- Work hard
- Get your education - spiritual and temporal
- Find you oil - discovering your true identity, being your true self, living out the righteous desires of your hear.
- Make your mark
- Give back
Lastly, beware of the double life
- socially appropriate - keep church and work separate, unified, consistent, holistic life. But living a socially appropriate life isn't always what we need to do or choose. Being honest in all your doings and have integrity will keep you moving into the right direction.
- duplicitous living - double life, lying, cheating. This life only leads to unhappiness and misery.
- congruent life - you're focused on establishing one identity, one lifestyle, and one set of values that apply to all dimensions of your daily walk.
Lynn G Robbins said in Making a Living and a Life, "work is to see if we would get along with others in making that living, see if we would be honest in our dealings with our fellowman."
What kind of grade would we give ourselves in the work that we do here on this earth. Grade A or Grade B, C, D, or F? An "A" grade includes the love of God and fellowman, enjoys work, honest, and sees others as you would love to be seen. The income is nice to have but used on helping and serving others because you have in abundance what you need on earth.
A "B" grade looks for money first then love of fellowman. Any other grade is not obtainable because that is what Satan wants and how his plan is.
