Dreams
Randy Pausch was able to achieve his childhood dreams because he kept trying to better himself. He had a mindset of I am going to do that. So he did. " the brick wall are there to stop other people and the show others how to get through them." He had the "doing what you love, loving what you do" attitude and if you have want to do something than just do it.
Dreaming is important in live.
It gets one to think about what they want in life and what they are able and capable to achieve. Dreams don't always come when you want them nor do they happen at all but if one is determined enough to keep working towards their dreams and accomplishing small steps toward it then they will happen.
One of my dreams was to be a wedding decorator.
I have always loved weddings, romance movies, creating things, flowers, colors, love, everything about starting new and making it a fairy tail. I am a hopeless romantic and dreamed of one day doing what I loved. I never dreamed it would really happen but the thought was nice. I set out through life always watching how "movies" would make it happen. I had children in high school and started making corsages and boutonnières for them and their friends. One of those who would buy a corsage and boutonnière contacted me to see if I would make the wedding flowers for her sister's wedding. I said yes, because of the challenge but more importantly because I know I could do it. That one time and letting others know about it gave me another job of making wedding flowers. Little did I know that I would be asked a third time to make wedding flowers and help a friend decorate for her daughters wedding. After we had finished the wedding we both agreed to start a business. I was in awe at how it all was coming together and how much I really enjoyed it. It was almost a year of trying and networking to land another wedding to decorate for. I was excited for another chance, a few months there I was given another chance to do a double wedding reception for sisters who got married a day apart. This time when the said dust cleared. I was given the change to take over the business for my own and continue to build it the way I dreamed of doing it. I was so excited. I would create a website, social media content and work towards getting everything prepared I needed for a wedding business to be. I am still working towards goals for the business and trying to achieve them. I have learned that dreams do come true if you keep a focus on what you really want. Having this dream in my hands, I know that I can achieve higher because I will continue to work to build a business that others will love and need. I love meeting new people, creating new content for our social media, and creating new backdrops and centerpieces that will bring more to the business.
