W01 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal Blog
Finding joy in my journey
The talk from Elder David A Bednar, Your Whole Souls as an Offering Unto Him, Ricks College Devotional, January 5, 1999, it gave me a overwhelming desire to continue through this journey and find the answers to my questions of why I was prompted to go back to get my education. I have always prayed to know the answers and to know what I need to do when I have completed the degree but have not yet received the answer to the question of why. I have however found new doors being opened to me as I progress forward with this degree. which helps me to continue with "diligence" and "competence" to learn all that I can. I find this statement to be true. "College is not just an experience to endure and "get through" Rather, a college experience is a period of development in one's life to be prized and prospered." My mom said to me, " Please don't discredit all the effort and hard work you have put into getting your degree. It is a huge accomplishment that you should be proud of."
President Gordon B. Hinckley speaking in a BYUI dedication address said, "Now be faithful. Be true. Go forward. Be ambitious. Don’t short circuits yourself. Don’t stop now. Keep going. Keep going. Educate your minds. And your spirits and never lose sight of the fact that you’re a child of God with a divine destiny and capable of doing great and good and wonderful things. Don’t sell yourself short. Don’t cheapen yourselves, you know who you are. You that you are a child of God and that your Heavenly Father expects something great and noble and good of each of you." which touched my heart as if he was talking to me too.
Weeks Reflection
What I have learned is that we are all on the same journey back to our Heavenly Home but doing it so differently. We are all created in the image of our Heavenly parents but all are uniquely different. We all have a purpose here but it is not the same as the next person. This makes one wonder at the amazement of our lives and how we are all here to offer a different and new prospective on life. As I am at the end of my college experience, I have gained a lot of new knowledge that I hope to continue to pass on to those around me and apply in my life. I have learned techniques and skills that have boosted my confidence in myself and have allowed me to gain knowledge that I have never thought I had it in me to do so.
