W04 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

 Launching Leaders 

Has helped me in many ways to understand the beginning goals for me in my new business adventures. I started out with a few wedding supplies to decorate with and continued to build on them as we got new clients and new opportunities of growth to learn what it takes to operate a business. We have had "fears" arise, lack of knowledge in pricing/quote, and calculating the cost of  materials needed. Through all these "fears" I have become aware of new things that I have never known before and I keep pressing forward with faith to have more opportunities to decorate weddings for couples to celebrate under. Taking control of what I am learning in this class about my life and my new business has been something I will always remember and try to achieve in my business career. 

Most Important Concepts

1. Live what you know. By living what you know you will establish good habits of growth in live, career, or whatever venture you make. This will help you to succeed, face fears, and teach you to have a "can do" attitude towards anything you may face. Staying positive and finding the good in any situation will help you to improve, rely on the Lord, move outside of your comfort zone, and move forward with faith. 

2. Work hard will help you to be successful. Allowing for a foundation that will keep you on a financial fitness path by putting God first, being ready for any circumstance that will arise, be a good steward and prepare for a rainy day will help you to face the future with freedom and a peaceful mind in doing so. 

3. Knowledge is an important component to life. This knowledge is in perusing an education and acquiring a degree in the field that will help you develop and grow. As well as, getting knowledge from the scriptures and other spiritual sources. I think having knowledge is powerful in knowing more than you did before. 

How will apply them?

Applying what I have learned in my life is going to take faith and prayers on my part. It is hard to change bad habits and make new ones that will last. I know that through the help of the Lord and me pushing forward in faith that I can accomplish what I need to do to become successful at this time in my life. I know that putting into practice good habits now will not only help myself but my posterity. I wish I could go back to my 18 year old self and do what my dad counseled me to do and what this weeks lesson reaffirmed me to do was pay the Lord 10%, myself 10%, pay the bills that you have to and save the rest and by the time you are 30 you will not have to worry. I chose a different path and haven't been very successful in doing it. Personal choices when not set upon the guidance of the Lord are harder to overcome than those who rely on the Lord to direct their path. 

I know that I can do all things because of my foundation that I have that I am a child of God, I know how to rely on the Lord for help and guidance if I just ask, I can become something more than I know I can by just trying to move forward with my core values and goals. I know that I will learn whatever it is by doing and not just sitting around for something to come around.
