W08 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

Overcoming Challenges

This topic came in a week that I needed the talks, lessons, and reminders the most. Overcoming challenges when you are in the mist of them is not an easy thing to see or want to get past. I am currently in a lot of them right now. So it came as no surprise as if this weeks lesson was giving me perspective in the middle of the down pour. Its kind of like when you are preparing for a talk and Heavenly Father gives you experiences that apply. Like that!

What I learned

However long and Hard the Road. We are give "spiritual guardrails" to keep us to continue moving forward and to persevere until there is victory. Endure through the blood, toil, tears, sweat, and keep trying until the end whenever that may be. Dreams and visions have helped a lot of people say the course because they act as "spiritual guardrails" to the purpose, plan and mission that we have been sent here to accomplish. I have learned in my 45 years that there is more hard days than happy.
HARD= Humbling And Refining Days, but Heavenly Father knew that and that is why we have the Savior and the Atonement and happy, sunshine days to feel us with hope to keep moving forward. "The best things in your lives are worth finishing" said Jeffery R Holland

Entrepreneurship

Just like life, owning a business has its joys and set backs. Showing love, kindness, and respect to all that you do business with is how you move forward in forming something successful. This effort too takes blood, sweat, and tears but it is worth it in the end when one can figure it all out. To be a business owner there are things that need to take place to have the customer/ business relationship every owner longs for. I learned in my BUS 210 class owning a business is about communication and plans/policies. When policies are in place then everyone involved knows what they are required to do. It communication is lacking in any way take steps to repair it. Businesses thrive if you know what the customer wants and you don't doubt yourself and what you can do. Taking a step back to reevaluate things will always benefit the business.

In Conclusion

I know that every adventure, every endeavor, every thing that I set my mind to do, the Lord is with me. I was given a prompting to go back to college and get my degree 4 years ago. At the time I didn't understand what I needed to do or the direction to take. I took it as a sign that a year into school I landed a part time job as an assistant web designer and as I learned more about it, I loved the work. I started to take Technology classes and went down that road. As I have learned about the computer, coding, graphic design, social media marketing I knew that I was not a coder nor did I love it but the design part I did understand and love to do.

I have faced a lot of challenges and set backs in these 4 years, but overall I know that this was the plan I needed to take. in 2020 I was able to understand and help my kids with their now online school as I was doing the same thing. In 2022 I was given an opportunity to fulfill a dream of mine and decorate for weddings which we started a business after doing one. And still giving full ownership of the business a year later. I know that these opportunities would not have come if I wasn't pushing forward. I started taking entrepreneur classes to not only get my degree but help me understand the business I now had stewardship over.

I still don't know what direction I am taking after I graduate but I know that if I keep asking and doing the Lord will continue to guide me in a direction that I need to keep taking. I know that good things do come if we keep trying to move forward in faith.
